At The French Toast Connection, we're all about brunch.
At The French Toast Connection, we're all about brunch.
Our world-famous french toast and sandwiches start as thick, hearty slices of poppyseed challah bread from Grand Central Bakery, or gluten-free challah bread from New Cascadia Bakery.
We dip them in our traditional batter made with eggs, milk and spices, or our ever-popular ice cream batter. Then we griddle-fry them until they’re golden brown and ready to devour.
Next we add sass with premium ingredients like house-made whipped cream, peanut butter, Nutella, fresh fruit, goat cheese, maple-glazed bacon, and much more, and finally, we serve it up, piping hot and fresh and made to order every time.
So grab your friends & family, bring your appetites, and come downtown to see us: it’s brunch time!

Reviews
This place is right across the street from my job and it’s definitely one of my favorite places in the area. The Decadent French toast is seriously crack and you can get bacon and eggs on the side. I always call in ahead because it can take a while. They also have the Nutella option which is my second go-to! Service is always great as well.
This place is so delicious. It’s refreshing to see a breakfast themed food cart. We had The Hot Mess and The Bread Pudding. The Hot Mess came out fast and hot. Then I had the large bourbon bread pudding. It came out hot. It wasn’t overly sweet with a bourbon taste. Moist but not too wet or dry. Reasonably priced too. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Phenomenal Phood!!! I had to order The Snooze Button. Challah bread, bananas, peanut butter, with added sausage... how could I not order this? My wife ordered The Decadent, which was phenomenal as well. We ordered our food and walked down to Waterfront Park. An amazing end to our weekend in Portland. Awesome food French Toast Connection!!!
The French Toast Connection was a warm treat on a chilly Portland morning. The ingredients are absolutely divine! We tried The Decadent and The Hot Mess. This place is serving up Tastegasms!!!! Breakfast was $22 and was hot and ready in about 5 minutes. We can’t wait to bring our out-of-town guests here!
OMFG… This was deliciously lovely! We got The Hot Mess! I was thinking of getting The Decadent, but we decided to get The Hot Mess to share because we wanted to save room for trying other places too. If I was in Portland again, I would definitely come back here for more of that yumminess. 🙂
My friends got The Hot Mess because we were told it’s the most popular. I got The Snooze Button with half Nutella. The bread was so fluffy and one of the best I’ve had. Of the two, I enjoyed mine the most because I felt that the PB, Nutella and banana complimented the French toast well. Either option works, just depends on what you’re looking for!
OMG HEAVEN. I ordered banana and peanut butter stuffed french toast with a side of maple bacon. I could not finish the entire thing even thought I tried because it was that good! It was like having the weekend breakfast during a work day. Great way to start my Friday. I highly recommend and will return in the future.
The Snooze Button was absolutely decadent. French toast and bananas smothered with peanut butter. I almost regretted adding a side of the maple bacon... almost. The portion size was very respectable, and I could only eat about half of it. Definitely a great food truck that I will be stopping by again next time I crave French Toast.
My boyfriend and I were given this recommendation the last time we were in Portland. We got The Hot Mess and something else. SO SO good. It inspired one of my friends to try goat cheese on top of other things lol. Probably enough food to fill you up for a while, a decent amount for two people, but splitting it into fours made me want more!
Had The Savory! Delicious. I used habanero hot sauce on top, that is a must. Great combination of red peppers, goat cheese, and chives. Yum. The French Toast Connection never disappoints!!
